Two Brothers, One Standard

Welcome Home Construction started the way the best family businesses do — with two brothers, Riz and Faizal Jamal, who believed they could build something better, and better for people.

What began in 2001 with a single custom home has grown into a full-service construction and development company serving Kitchener-Waterloo and beyond: custom and luxury homes, major renovations and additions, multi-residential buildings, condominium developments, land development, and large-scale affordable housing.

Through all that growth, one promise has never changed: we will never accept anything less than we would want for our own home. When you’re investing in your home and your family, every detail matters — and we treat it that way. To us, this was never just a business. It’s family. And once you build with us, you’re part of the Welcome Home family too.

What We Do — Your Project, Your Way

We’re a full-service builder and developer, which means we can take a project from the first idea all the way to the keys in your hand — design, build, and finance, all under one roof.

Design — Starting with a Needs and Wants Analysis, then floor plans and mechanical layouts, designing around how you actually want to live.
Build — Decades of hands-on construction, with every trade, milestone, and inspection managed directly.
Land & Site Servicing — In-house land-servicing resources to prepare and service the land our developments are built on.
Finance & Develop — Experience with permits, site plan approvals, CMHC funding, government-backed programs, and major development strategy.

You don’t have to take the whole package to get our best. You can choose exactly what you need — a single trade, a design consultation, construction management, owner’s representative services, or the full build — and still receive the same Welcome Home standard.

Design-Build & Owner’s Representation

Our collaborative design-build approach brings the design team, consultants, and trades together in a focused, team-oriented relationship. You get one source of contact and responsibility, with a team that stays engaged from concept through completion.

For complex projects, our owner’s representative services help protect your best interests across every aspect of the job — improving communication between owners, contractors, vendors, and architects while helping control costs, timelines, and quality.

Planning

Great builds start long before ground is broken. Our process runs a clear sequence — Needs & Wants Analysis, floor plan, mechanical layout, permit approval, finance, build, inspections, and occupancy — so nothing is left to chance. On the development side, we handle site evaluation, entitlements, approvals, and financing strategy. Careful planning is where we protect your time, your money, and your vision.

Constructing

This is where our heritage shows. With decades of building behind us, we manage every trade, milestone, and inspection directly, from foundation to final walkthrough. We take a new and innovative approach to problem-solving and construction management that few others can match — and we hold the line on quality, schedule, and budget on every job, within realistic budgets and timelines. We build to last, and we build it right the first time.

Meet the Brothers

Riz Jamal — President & Partner

Riz leads WHC’s direction, development strategy, and financing. He is direct, honest, and focused on leaving people in a better position than he found them. Today, he is helping drive WHC’s expansion into multi-residential and affordable housing, including the company’s flagship Nova Scotia developments and in-house land-servicing capabilities.

Faizal Jamal — Vice President & Partner

Faizal leads supervision, operations, and the day-to-day work of getting projects built. He values family, happiness, and helping others bring their dreams to life. His message to clients is simple: never give up on the home you’re dreaming of, because with the right team, it is already within reach.

Together, Riz and Faizal built WHC on a foundation their own father helped instill — and on a promise that still guides the company today: may our homes be warm and our friends many. Friends and family, welcome home.
